Why You MUST Quit Eating Microwaveable Meals

I used to be guilty of this – many many years ago – now you COULD NOT PAY ME to eat a microwaveable meal (or any processed food for that matter). Those are not even  meals, actually. It’s more like microwaveable “chemicals”…that don’t kill you (at least not right away). Let’s go over some of the common ingredients in a microwaveable meal. Let’s use a lean cuisine for example since I am sure many people think these are healthy options (hint: they are not healthy AT ALL).

Ingredients in the Sesame Chicken Lean Cuisine:

“blanched spaghetti (water, semolina), sesame breaded chicken tenderloins (cooked chicken tenderloins, water, seasoning (dried soy sauce {soybeans, wheat, salt}, maltodextrin, fructose, salt, autolyzed yeast extract, flavor, modified corn starch, mixed triglycerides, chicken broth powder, wheat dextrin, contains less than 2% butter {cream, salt}, carrots, chicken fat, citric acid, cornstarch, sesame oil, sugar, tapioca dextrin), isolated soy protein, modified rice starch, roasted sesame oil, sodium phosphates, salt. battered and breaded with: water, bleached wheat flour, yellow corn flour, bleached enriched wheat flour (niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sesame seeds, modified corn starch, salt, leavening (sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate), nonfat dry milk, dextrose, soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean and/or cottonseed oil, yeast, dried onion powder, dried garlic powder, dried whole eggs, extractives of paprika, oleoresin paprika and annatto. breading set in soybean oil.), water, green beans, plum sauce (sugar, salted plums, water, rice vinegar, modified cornstarch, ginger, citric acid, sodium citrate, chili peppers, xanthan gum, contains wheat, soybeans), red peppers, 2% or less of sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), modified cornstarch, garlic puree, sesame seeds, dehydrated soy sauce (soybeans, salt, wheat), vinegar concentrate (rice vinegar, corn syrup, natural flavor), spice.” via Lean Cuisine website

OMG. THAT IS ABSURD Y’ALL. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY INGREDIENTS THAT AREN’T EVEN FOOD? So I don’t have all day to dive into each ingredient but let’s look at a few of them and perhaps then you will understand why you probably can’t lose weight and want to, and you feel bloated and gassy and gross and potentially stopped up/constipated/yuck all the time. It’s because of that long list up there that you are eating day in day out! TRASH THEM ALL Y’ALL IT’S NOT FOOD. Ok rant over, let’s look at some ingredients.

  1. Maltodextrin: This is one of the ingredients in Splenda, the artificial sweetener that our bodies don’t know what to do with. Splenda’s ingredients, as well as any artificial sweetener, can cause cancer and nerve damage. It’s in NO way good for you to consume – ever. Anytime I see this in any ingredient list I definitely do not eat it.
  2. Soybeans: Soy is bad because 90% of soy in the US is genetically modified. Soy is also REALLY bad for women because once consumed, it mimics estrogen in the body and therefore raises estrogen levels and this can lead to breast cancer. Avoid soy at all costs!   3. Wheat dextrin: Apparently this is a soluble fiber supplement. I would rather get my fiber in the form of food, thank you very much. Such as that found in organic oatmeal, chia seeds, and veggies. Another artificial additive.
  4. Sodium phosphates: A form of salt. This is an additive that is used to keep everything separated because this is a processed meal. It keeps everything uniformly dispersed. Well, I would much rather cook my own meals and not have to worry about this additive – who knows what else it could do to our bodies. Anything that is an “additive” should be avoided.
  5. Dextrose: A form of glucose derived from starches. = sugar. Avoid sugar at all costs!
  6. Sugar: AVOID SUGAR! Sugar is highly addictive and studies show it’s as addictive as cocaine and/or heroin within the brain. Sugar = poison and it’s making you crave more and more of it every time you eat it, thus pushing your dream body further away!
  7. Partially hydrogenated soybean oil: GROSS!! This is potentially the worst offender. Later this was identified to be the fatty, hydrogenated oil laden fast food breakfast of that patient the day before surgery. Not a pleasant thought at all.” via Natural News.

So those things should be enough to tell you why these microwaveable meals are not even food at all! It’s chemicals, sugar, artificial sweeteners, and hydrogenated oils! Stay far far away from anything that must be cooked in a microwave and that has an ingredients list that is as long as a paragraph!! My motto: if there are more than 5 ingredients, just don’t eat it! Very few things pass that test! If you reading this and are guilty of having a microwaveable meal on occasion, or even daily, I beg you to go read the label and start to think about WHAT ARE THOSE ingredients. Think about how you feel on a daily basis…are you bloated? Puffy? Feel swollen or gassy or unable to use the bathroom? Do you feel fatigued often? Have you not considered that perhaps it’s all the chemicals you are putting inside your body on a daily basis? Our bodies are not designed to eat those chemicals…that’s why you aren’t “running properly”…so join me and eat clean and find your best body because you can uncover it once you stop fueling yourself with garbage. Stop being fooled – those meals are not good for you at all. It’s all a marketing advertising scheme so that these companies can make more money off of you getting sicker and fatter! #eatclean and #saygoodbye to prescription meds because #FOODISMEDICINE
